SurgiVision has been researching and developing interventional MRI technologies since its inception in 1998. Throughout that period, SurgiVision established an extensive intellectual property portfolio. SurgiVision's portfolio includes over 40 issued patents and over 115 patent applications, both US and foreign, that are wholly-owned, co-owned or licensed.
In addition to the technologies embedded in the ClearPointTM and ClearTraceTM platforms, SurgiVision has developed numerous other iMRI technologies, including: intravascular MRI guidewire coils that have been used to navigate and image the heart, peripheral vasculature and the iliac arteries; esophageal MRI coils for navigation of the esophagus and imaging of aortic plaque and esophageal varices; and urethral coils for ultra-high resolution urethral imaging of the male prostate and female urethra to evaluate incontinence disorders. These imaging coils have been used for hundreds of research studies at numerous sites in the United States, including research at The Johns Hopkins University, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the National Institutes of Health and the University of Texas Southwestern.
